Accessing Your Digital Treatises
After logging in to your account, you will be taken to My NCLC, your new home page. A list of treatises that you are subscribed to will appear in My Subscriptions on the left side bar. To begin reading, click any of the titles that appear there. To add subscriptions to your library, visit the bookstore.
Treatise text will appear in the right reading panel, while the treatise's Table of Contents will appear in the left panel. Both of these panels have separate scrollbars. Use infinite scroll to read through the subsections, or click through the expandable Table of Contents to jump to a subsection.
Using the Table of Contents
The Table of Contents populates the left side pane of the book reader. View subsections within a section by clicking on the section name. Collapse them by doing the same. The "Expand All" toggle at the top right of the table of contents will show each subsection without requiring that you click to expand them individually. The table of contents is searchable, and results will appear in real time below the search bar.
The whole table of contents can be collapsed to enlarge the right side reading panel.
Use the tabs at the top of the table of contents to view and click through the treatise's appendices, index, and companion material.

- Click the dropdown arrow at the end of each subsection to view that subsection's footnotes.
- Click the "Footnotes" icon in your right sidebar toolbox to view Footnotes side by side with text.
Using Search
Enter the word or phrase that you are searching for. Use the left side facets on the Results page to narrow down your search results by: content type (e.g. treatise, article, pleadings and discovery); only new content; treatise title; whether publicly accessible; or author name. Clicking certain facets/filters open up even more facets to further narrow results. Results by default are ordered by relevance, but results in treatise section order are viewed by selecting a treatise and sort "by section" and clicking "search."To just use facets/filters to pinpoint material without a keyword, click on "advanced search" below the search box. After selecting a facet, you can add a keyword to further narrow results. Click on terms and connectors for shortcuts to do proximity searches and other complex searches.
Please note, the search engine can drill down only one at a time among the four main content types: treatise content, companion material, articles, and alerts. Conference materials are under companion materials.
